St Joseph’s Church in Romsey hosted its first outdoor social after Mass on Sunday last week.

The aim was to encourage more people to stay for the after Mass teas and coffees, by bringing the refreshments out of the hall, which is around the corner from the church, and putting them right outside the church after Mass instead.

It worked very well!

Lots of people stayed to chat and share a snack. There was a lovely festive feeling around the group, who all enjoyed being out in the sunshine.

This is something that St Joseph’s will try to do once a month in the summer (weather permitting!)

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this such a success!

Our May half term Come and See club is now open for booking! (It’s come around so quickly! 😳)

This week, some photos from 1989 were unearthed at St Edward the Confessor Church, documenting the refurbishment of the church and the building of the cloister.

It’s fascinating to see the changes that were taking shape to form the St Edward’s we know today.

On Good Friday, St Swithun Wells Parish held its first official outdoor Stations of the Cross, around Eastleigh town centre!

It was very successful, with over 100 people attending!

Stations of the Cross is such an important part of Easter, as we reflect, pray and walk with Christ through his passion.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to making next years event even bigger!

Good Friday

We hope to see you all today at the Good Friday Stations of the Criss, starting at 10.30am at Holy Cross Church, Eastleigh.

We will be commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, by following the procession of the cross around Eastleigh and listening to readings and hymns.

All are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there later today!

Don’t forget to abstain from meat today to honour the sacrifice of Jesus, who gave up his flesh on the cross.
