Portugal Pilgrimage:

Monday, was our last day in Portugal. We went to visit the Monastery of Alcobaça and then headed towards Nazaré, where we saw the majestic ocean and seaside. We celebrated Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Nazaré. After that, we went to the airport and returned to England.

It was a very spiritual pilgrimage that will stay with us for a long time. Blessed be God!

We hope everyone had a wonderful time on the pilgrimage! Welcome back to England. We were hoping you would bring the sunshine back with you, but it doesn’t seem to like crossing the channel! 🌞

On Sunday, we celebrated Mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima. In the afternoon, we visited the site where the Angel of Portugal appeared to the three shepherds.

On Saturday after a relaxing lunch, we headed towards Fátima, and at night, we took part in the beautiful candlelight procession. It was a fantastic day!

On Saturday we visited the Jerónimos Monastery, possibly the most beautiful church in Lisbon. After that, we went to the Monument to the Discoveries and the Belém Tower.

22 miles. 20 bridges. One big dream.

Joshua from Waltham Chase is on an incredible journey to the World Scout Jamboree 2027 — and thanks to amazing community support, he’s already raised half of his goal!

St Joseph’s Church in Romsey hosted its first outdoor social after Mass on Sunday last week.

The aim was to encourage more people to stay for the after Mass teas and coffees, by bringing the refreshments out of the hall, which is around the corner from the church, and putting them right outside the church after Mass instead.

It worked very well!

Lots of people stayed to chat and share a snack. There was a lovely festive feeling around the group, who all enjoyed being out in the sunshine.

This is something that St Joseph’s will try to do once a month in the summer (weather permitting!)

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this such a success!
